Recipient of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge’s George Washington Honor Medal for 2002
We would like to welcome you to the new San Lorenzo High School Veterans Memorial
Program’s web page. After several years of inactivity, we are back and have a number of
projects planned. Check this website often for the latest news.
The San Lorenzo High School Veterans Memorial Program is a program which honors
former San Lorenzo students who died in action in the Vietnam War. The program began
in 1998 as a project of the San Lorenzo High School/Eden Area Regional Occupational
Program (ROP) DECA class. Members of the project teams are members of the San
Lorenzo Chapter of DECA . These students are normally seniors and/or juniors who are
also members of the marketing class at San Lorenzo.
This is a student managed program. The DECA advisor and project advisor may offer
advice, but all management decisions are made by the students.
In addition to presenting school activities that honor our veterans the program team
members also take part in activities which support our school, our local community, and
our veteran communities and organizations.
In the year 2002 we were awarded the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge's George
Washington Honor Medal for Excellence in the schools category. This is the top honor in
this category. We thank the Freedoms Foundation for this exceptional honor.
Please take some time and explore this web site. Learn about the history, the goals, and
