The 1999 Team
The 1999 team was our first team. This team consisted of (L to R): Anna Lopez, Lily Marquez and Sandra Alonso. Originally,
we did not plan to carry the program over after the first year. We planned to identify as many former students who had
died in Vietnam as possible, and then, hold a school rally honoring them. The program, in general, and the school rally, in
particular, were so well received that it was decided to continue the program.
Credit for this success lies completely with this first team. They set the professional tone for future teams and set the
high standards which were met by the following teams.
Unfortunately, the photographs of the first rally and other events have been lost. We are still looking and, if found,
photos will be added to this page.
The 2000 Team consisted of Nancy Muñoz, Ryan Kooistra and Helen
Delacruz. The team is pictured at the left with non-team member
Virginia Guitierrez (L). Helen is in front.
After the first year of the project we received information from a
number of alumni that there were additional San Lorenzo who had
been killed in Vietnam that were not included in the original
program.
Concerned that students were missed, the 2000 team focused on
researching all available records to insure that no San Lorenzo
veteran was missed. Through their efforts several additional
veterans were identified and their names added to the program.
Unfortunately, most of the materials relating to to the 2000 team
were also lost.
